IAB Spain (Interactive Advertising Bureau) is the association of advertising, marketing and digital communication in Spain. Its main objective is the promoting digital business and for this purpose it is structured through commissions formed by companies with common interests and that cover different areas of the digital business.

That is why, among its objectives is the understand the evolution and use of one of the social media that have changed our society the most, social networks.

Elogia has collaborated with IAB Spain to be able to define the knowledge, perception, habits and preferences that users have of social networks and the role they have played in the 2.0 environment .

In order to collect the information, a study has been built to see how the key indicators evolve over time, while allowing the objectives to be monitored to be included or updated in order to respond to the needs of the IAB and the sector.

Among the different objectives of the annual studies, we would highlight in 2009, to learn about the role of Social Networks in Spain, in 2010, their evolution, in 2011, to delve into the role of mobile phones and e-commerce, in 2012, to study new networks that had entered the market, in 2013, the WhatsApp phenomenon and the role of advertising, in 2014, the use of mobile devices in 2015, and in the last study in 2016, collaborative commerce.

The information is collected through Online survey with self-administered questionnaire (CAWI) conducted on panelists with national representation.

GUARANTEED SUCCESS

The study has become like the reference study to find out the penetration of social networks among Spanish Internet users, profiles for each network and how they are being used. The relevance of this has made it have a great impact in the media, but above all, it is a An invaluable tool for building strategies inbound and learn more about the users of these networks.
